Janice M. Bostok, in the late 1960s, founded Australia's first haiku journal, Tweed, which she edited for nearly a decade. She co-edited, with John Bird in 1999, The First Australian Haiku Anthology. Author of 16 collections of haiku and other related forms, Janice won the Haiku Society of America Book Award in 1974 and placed first in the Seashell Game, a competition for most popular English-language haiku in 2002.
