New World Order

My parents have tottered off leaving their sentences half-unsaid, their chores undone. In the wooden cedar box, their love letters yellow as the ribbon tying them shreds and unravels. The stillness in their bedroom is the stillness of 3 a.m. In their closet, dresses, shirts and pants rustle in the lonely air.
