Snail trail

The gardener mutters that they are like the “pisaasu,” the devil himself. He is talking about the new invasion of snails in our garden. All of them have mottled yellow-grey shells with chocolate brown spirals. Before the rains they were rarely seen, but now, they are everywhere. From the tiny ones that cross the garden path to the huge ones that hang on the garden wall, they all have the same exterior. I am envious of their ability to turn a few steps in the garden into a journey of many meditative hours.
