Tear-Stained Face

The moon was so much brighter then. I returned its innocent gaze with a mother’s loving eye. Together we watched the valley and its ever-changing moods. Epochs passed with only the memory of us etched into the minds of the wild.

Floods and fires entered the scene, sweeping and sculpting the untamed landscape. We were natural phenomena, anchored only to the benign chaos of the universe.

lit by trillions of pinholes

Once discovered, we were worshipped, then exploited. My body, immortalized in black and white, is now the desire of masses who crawl across my naked back stabbed with cables. The moon hides its face in the shadows.
