Fireflies

My father stood at his walker and slowly turned, surveying the small town where he had grown up: a dozen houses by a bridge on a country road. He smiled and then bowed his head sheepishly. Got my first kiss on this bridge. Your mother's, too, I'd guess. We were just twelve years old or so. It was getting dark and I remember looking up at a bunch of fireflies sort of dancing above the weeds by the creek.

be in the park . . .
the evening ends
with fireworks
